Voice journaling

Speak your journal.
Keep it to yourself.

Talk for five minutes on the walk home and ThinkScribe turns it into a written entry on your phone: transcribed on the device, searchable for years, and never sent to us. A diary you have to type is a diary you stop keeping.

One purchase covers Mac, iPhone, iPad & Apple Watch.

How it works

Three steps, no upload.

  1. 1

    Say it out loud

Record on iPhone, from Apple Watch on a walk, or at your Mac. Talk for as long as you want; there is no length limit.

  2. 2

    It becomes text

The entry is transcribed on the device as soon as you stop and filed in your library with its date, ready to read.

  3. 3

    Look back on it

Ask for a summary of an entry, search months of them for a name or a theme, or export the lot as Markdown or PDF.

Features

A diary you actually keep.

Talk, don't type

A spoken entry takes a fraction of the time a written one does, and most people say far more when they are not typing it.

Genuinely private

A journal is the most personal thing on a phone. Transcription runs on the device, with no account and no upload to us.

Search years of entries

Every entry is indexed on the device, so finding the week you first mentioned something takes seconds.

Capture it on a walk

Start a recording from Apple Watch the moment a thought arrives, and it is waiting on your phone when you get back.

Summaries and themes

Ask the AI for the key points of an entry, or to pull the threads out of a long, rambling one.

Always yours to take

Export entries as Markdown, PDF, DOCX, TXT or JSON, so a decade of journaling is never locked inside one app.

Privacy

Why a journal has to stay on the device.

A journal is the last thing you would want sitting on a transcription company's server, and most voice-to-text apps upload the audio in order to transcribe it. ThinkScribe records and transcribes on the iPhone or Mac in your hand. There is no account to create, nothing to log in to, and your entries are never sent to us.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Can I journal without an internet connection?

Yes. Everything runs on the device, so entries record and transcribe on a plane, on a trail, or with the phone in Airplane Mode.

Where are my entries stored?

In the app on your device. If you switch on iCloud sync they also sync between your own Apple devices through your private iCloud account; sync is off unless you turn it on.

Can I get my entries back out?

Yes, at any time. Export as Markdown, PDF, DOCX, TXT or JSON, a single entry or a batch of them.

How long can one entry be?

As long as you like. There is no length limit and no per-minute charge, because the transcription happens on your own hardware.

Is this a mood tracker or a therapy app?

No. ThinkScribe records, transcribes and organizes what you say. It is not a mental health tool and it is not a substitute for professional support.
