Does voice typing work without internet?
Yes. The speech models are downloaded once during setup and run on the device from then on. Turn on Airplane Mode and keep dictating.
Which apps can I dictate into?
Any app with a text field. On Mac the text is placed at the cursor in the frontmost app, or on the clipboard if you prefer. On iPhone and iPad the ThinkScribe keyboard works wherever the system keyboard does.
How is this different from Apple's built-in dictation?
Apple's dictation runs on the device for some languages and sends audio to Apple's servers for others. ThinkScribe runs its own speech models for every language it supports, lets you switch engines, and adds an on-device rewrite step before the text is used.
Why does the iPhone keyboard ask for Full Access?
iOS does not let a keyboard use the microphone, so the ThinkScribe keyboard hands the recording to the ThinkScribe app and brings the text back. Full Access is what allows that hand-off. The audio is transcribed on the phone and is never sent to us.
