Is patient audio ever sent to a server?
No. Speech recognition runs on the Mac or iPhone, the app has no account, and audio and text are never sent to us. For rewrite and summaries you can choose the built-in ThinkScribe AI model, which runs on the device, or Apple Intelligence, which is provided by Apple.
Does it work with my EHR?
ThinkScribe types into any text field on Mac and iPhone, including browser-based EHRs, so it works wherever you can place a cursor.
Is ThinkScribe HIPAA compliant?
ThinkScribe makes no compliance claim and holds no certification. Speech is transcribed on your own device and your recordings and transcripts are never sent to us. Whether your overall workflow, including any Apple services you enable, meets your obligations is for your compliance advisor to confirm.
Can I dictate medical terminology accurately?
ThinkScribe uses large open speech models with broad vocabularies, and you can switch engines per use. Correcting a term once in the transcript is quick; the rewrite step can also standardize formatting.
